Additional info

  • Nothing on this menu is labeled

Ripe marks no dish vegan or vegetarian, and the kitchen is built around salmon, steak and chicken. Everything on this page is either a change I am suggesting or a dish whose published description simply happens to name no animal products. Treat it as a starting point for a conversation with the server, not as an answer.

  • The black bean burger is the reason to come

It is house-made from black beans, quinoa, pecans, oats, carrots and cilantro, which is a real patty rather than a bought-in one, and the only animal product in the description is the chipotle mayo. What binds it is not published, so that is the question to ask.

  • The side salad arrives with feta by default

Burgers and sandwiches come with a choice of side, and the house salad is topped with feta. If you are ordering the black bean burger without the mayo, say the same thing about the salad, or take the fries or the chips instead.

  • An older vegan dish is no longer on the menu

Roundups still mention a vegan coconut polenta with mushroom ragu at Ripe. It is not on the current published menu, so I have not recorded it. If a server offers it, that is new information worth sending me.

  • Brunch is a separate, unlinked menu

The Saturday and Sunday brunch card is published only as a PDF on Ripe's own site and is not in the online ordering menu at all. The quinoa bowl on it is the closest thing here to a vegan plate: drop the eggs and it is quinoa, tomato, black beans, onion, spinach, avocado and salsa.
