Additional info

  • Nothing here is labeled, and that is the whole caveat

Nour's menu carries no vegan or vegetarian marks. What it does carry is unusually complete ingredient descriptions, and a lot of them name nothing but vegetables, pulses, olive oil and lemon. That is why so much of this list sits under "worth asking about" rather than under vegan. It is a strong lead, not an answer.

  • The two salads are the easy order

The Greek salad and the House Lebanese salad both list feta as the only animal product. Asking for them without it is a small, specific request, which is why they are the two dishes here recorded as vegan with a change rather than as a question.

  • Questions worth asking about the fried items

The falafel, fried veggies, potato harrah, fried okra and fries are all fried. Nothing published says whether they share oil with the chicken, the fish filet or the kafta. The falafel binder is not published either.

  • Tahini sauce is not automatically dairy-free

Tahini sauce turns up on the hummus, baba ghannouj, foul, fried okra and the vegetarian combo plate. It is normally sesame, lemon and garlic, but some kitchens loosen it with yogurt. Worth one question that clears half the menu at once.
